Interleukin-28B (IL28B)
Interleukin 28B (IL28B) which is also known as IFN-λ3, is a cytokine encoded by IFNL-3 gene on chromosome 19. Interleukin 28B (IL28B) is involved in HCV treatment and highly associated with SVR (Sustained Viral Response). Particularly, determination of rs12979860 polymorphism whether the patient with genotype T/T, C/T or C/C in the promoter region of IL28B is crucial for the combined treatment of pegylated interferon (Peg-IFN) and Ribavirin (RBV) against HCV. Recent studies state that the patients with genotype C/C show higher SVR rate and positive treatment response to HCV therapy compared to C/T and T/T genotypes.

Interleukin-28B (IL-28B) Kits
Bosphore Interleukin-28B (IL-28B) Detection Kit detects rs12979860 of Interleukin 28B (IL-28B) polymorphism on chromosome 19 from human blood samples. C allele of the polymorphism is amplified and fluorescence detection is accomplished using the FAM filter. T allele is amplified and fluorescence detection is accomplished using the HEX filter.
