Monkeypox detected in Turkey

The first monkeypox case in Turkiye was announced by the Ministry of Health.

Health authorities such as World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) emphasized the importance of diagnosis and isolation in the prevention of the disease, which continues to be an outbreak and for which there is no cure. In suspected cases, authorities recommend self-isolation and the use of PCR method in terms of accuracy and sensitivity.
